With 8 showrooms situated at Airside near Swords, a further 4 at Navan Road and our Bray dealership we provide a choice of locations for interested candidates.

As a result of our ongoing expansion and business growth, we are seeking to appoint positive and motivated individuals to join our successful apprenticeship program. We are looking for people who wish to commence an apprenticeship or are already registered for such a scheme, but would like to move to advance their career.

Role responsibilities:

We combine off-the-job training at SOLAS with on-the-job learning at our state of the art dealership facilities, where you will be supported every step of the way. You will join a 4 four-year apprenticeship course, to become a fully qualified motor mechanic, with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Motor Mechanics.

Using a combination of classroom-based training, e-learning, practical training, and mentoring, you will be guided along the road to success.

As well as employment in our workshops, you will be given the training and support you need to develop both personally and professionally.

Practical Training includes:

  • Learning to perform quality vehicle service maintenance and repairs by collaborating with an assigned technician.
  • Assisting in vehicle health checks and videos used to advise customers of work required on their vehicles.
  • Use of the computerised Dealer Management System to record time spent on jobs and work carried out.
  • Diagnostic procedures and methods under supervision using the manufacturer’s diagnostic equipment.
  • Collection of required parts from the Parts department and delivery to ramps for fitting.

By the end of your Apprenticeship you will be able to:

  • Conduct all vehicle service, maintenance, and repair procedures.
  • Complete vehicle health checks.
  • Diagnose faults; dismantle and reassemble the engine and its components.
  • Advise the Service Receptionists and customers about required repairs.
  • Conduct a complete engine overhaul.
  • Produce time estimates.
  • Use specialised equipment to check the operation of the lighting, steering, braking and other systems.
  • Replace various parts including timing belts and chains; clutch components; brake components; and steering and suspension components.
  • Diagnose faults and repair mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Test electrical and electronic systems and components.

We are not looking for the finished article; rather we want to identify those people that are ambitious and demonstrate a willingness to learn, who are excited by the prospect of working within our fantastic workshops, and really engage in being part of our group.

Future Prospects

Following successful completion of your Apprenticeship you will follow a structured development program to allow you to achieve your full potential eventually moving through the business positions of Qualified technician, Licenced technician, Senior Technician, Master Technician or Commercial Technician. You will have the opportunity to follow various career paths whether these be technical or managerial.
