Thinking about making the switch to electric? There has never been a better time. Under the new Government-backed ICE2EV Scrappage Scheme, eligible customers can receive up to €8,500 towards a new electric vehicle, helping you reduce the cost of going electric while enjoying lower running costs and the latest EV technology.
If you own a petrol or diesel car registered in 2013 or earlier, you could qualify for €5,000 scrappage support when trading it in for a new electric vehicle. This is in addition to the existing SEAI EV Grant of up to €3,500, bringing the total available support to up to €8,500.
The scheme opens in July 2026 and is available for a limited number of applications, so we recommend acting quickly to avoid disappointment!
